چکیده

Accurate assessment of extremity &hernia is often a prerequisite to the successful completion of complex arterial reconstructions. Muscle surface pH, reflecting the status of local tissue metabolism, offers a means for continuously monitoring limb perfusion. The present investigation was designed to evaluate muscle surface pH measurements in ischemic canine hindlimbs. These measurements, subjected to careful statistical analysis, were related to extremity blood flow, perfusion pressure, effluent blood pH, and arteriovenous oxygen differences.

Candesartan Attenuates Ischemic Brain Edema and Protects the Blood–Brain Barrier Integrity from Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury in Rats

Background: Angiotensin II (Ang II) has an important role on cerebral microcirculation however, its direct roles in terms of ischemic brain edema need to be clarified. This study evaluated the role of central Ang II by using candesartan, as an AT1 receptor blocker, in the brain edema formation and blood-brain barrier (BBB) disruption caused by ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injuries in rat. Methods...

Effect of losartan on NOX2 transcription following acute myocardial ischemia-reperfusion

Introduction: Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase-2 (Nox2) is one of the predominant sources of ROS production during myocardial ischemia-reperfusion and can be induced by angiotensin II. The evidence suggests that pharmacological blockers of renin-angiotensin system can exert direct tissue effects independent of their ability to regulate blood pressure. The mechanism...

Comments and Opinions Partial Aortic Occlusion and Cerebral Venous Steal Venous Effects of Arterial Manipulation in Acute Stroke

Acute ischemic stroke therapy emphasizes early arterial clot lysis or removal. Partial aortic occlusion has recently emerged as an alternative hemodynamic approach to augment cerebral perfusion in acute ischemic stroke. The exact mechanism of cerebral flow augmentation with partial aortic occlusion remains unclear and may involve more than simple diversion of arterial blood flow from the lower ...

Reduction of hemorrhagic shock–induced acute kidney injury by lower limb ischemic preconditioning in rats

Introduction: During hemorrhagic shock (HS), the kidneys are one of the primary target organs involved. Oxidative stress is shown to be enhanced in different models of acute kidney injury (AKI). Remote ischemic preconditioning (RPC) by brief limb ischemia is considered to be a safe method to protect different organs from further damage. In this study, we investigated the effects of brief hind l...
